A Lovely Mother's Day

Jenny and Jean-Marc were due in early this morning, but they called last night to say their car had broken down still in VA.  So this morning we drove up to Bristol to get Jenny whose internship starts tomorrow morning in Chattanooga.  We left poor Jean-Marc there "batching" it, waiting for the car to get fixed.  On the way there, I got to talk to Jim and Monique who are on vacation, although poor Charis is sick.
Then I got to talk to Katie and Cameron on the way home.  When we got home, Kara had made a fabulous gourmet meal: for appetizers, olives, baba ganoush, hummus, and a cheese plate with delicious bread; followed by grilled fresh pineapple slices, tomato brochettes, grilled asparagus, multi-grain pilaf, and Persian chicken kebabs; finally, for dessert, home-made peach cobbler with crème fraîche sauce!  I've never eaten a better meal anywhere, period!  So except for feeling bad that poor Jean-Marc couldn't enjoy this with us, it was a lovely Mother's Day!

  2. Oh, my goodness, Kara is such a fabulous cook! We got to dine on leftovers Monday night! I can't believe I used to hate leftovers; I love them now--when I get out of cooking a meal! :)
