Mellow Yellow Stella

Yellow is such a happy color, and daylilies are such happy flowers.  I used to find the Stella d'Oro a harsh color compared to the lemon yellow Happy Returns.  But I've come to love the Stellas with their sunny, warm color.
It's a good thing, since our whole front walk is lined with them!  They make a stunning display, and I can't help but smile when I see them.
I think Quasimodo, our resident gargoyle, likes them, too!  He's gazing right down a long line of them and hasn't taken his eyes off them since they burst into bloom!

  1. Quasimodo a raison de s'en mettre plein les yeux ! C'est magnifique. Ici elles ne sont même pas en boutons !

  4. Then goldenrod and yellow leaves in the fall and winter jasmine in the winter! But I think spring wins because it's got forsythia AND daffodils! Of course the summer not only has Stella d'Oro, but also black-eyed Susans. Who could beat those?
