A Beautiful Winter Day

The snow kept falling all day, so about 3 p.m. we went out to take a walk.  Brandy and Angel came to meet us.

I love the snowflakes on her face and her ice-tangled  mane.

Looking over the farm from the top of the back pasture, you can barely see Kara's house, the 2 barns and our house--and Angel & Brandy.

We could actually see the snowflakes hitting the pond.

Up on the hill in the woods, each tree had a different snow design on its trunk.

The snow turned the hay barn into a work of art!

Even the chickens' pen was artistic!
Zephyr was thrilled to escape her forced rest inside (for a lame leg) to get out and play in the snow for a few minutes while I shut the chickens up.  She burrowed her nose in the snow and rolled in it.

And then the day ended in a blaze of glory, truly the most magnificent sunset we have ever seen here. . .

. . . and night settled over the valley.

My camera and I ended the day in the same place we began it--looking out the front porch.  The falling snow created a halo of light around our neighbor's security light, reflecting warmly on the snow like a candle in a window.
Good night.
