Bedtime
I'll be ready for bed tonight because it was bedtime all afternoon--garden bed-time, that is! Herb shoveled a huge pile of black gold compost off the trailer into the remaining beds while I planted everything we bought yesterday--cucumbers, squash, cantaloupe, tomatoes, marigolds, basil, cabbage, brussels sprouts, and pole beans. I never realized how confusing it can be to plant a garden till I started reading about companion and adversary plants. Plant A can go with B, but not with C, but C likes B, etc! It's enough to drive you crazy--like trying to figure out seating at a huge family meal where people only get along with certain other people! Sheesh! I just hope I got it right! It certainly is a good feeling looking at all those planted, mulched and watered beds! And now my bed is sounding pretty good . . .
