Winter Wonderland

Saturday, January 30, 2010
Going out to feed the animals gets me out of the house and into the beauty of creation.  I got a glimpse of light on the pond from up at the barn, so I just had to take my camera down there.  Even though there was no sun, there was enough light to make beautiful reflections of snow and water.  There must be snow melting somewhere, because  water is running from the hills into the pond, which is so full there's water running out to join the creek that comes into our property from the north.  Zephyr can't resist running through the water and barking at it.  She obviously loves water in any form, because she had a luxurious (?!) roll in the snow.

What a welcome sight!  You know what shadows mean--the sun is shining!  Unfortunately, it came out too late to thaw the frozen crust of snow on the road, so we didn't attempt to make it to church over the back roads, but we are thankful to see its shining face!

  1. I love the Tree Shadow one but Zeph Zeph makes me laugh the most! I actually dreamed about her the other night; she was saving her food and sharing it with you. I'll have to tell you about it!! Such a faithful dog!
