Happy New Year!

January 1st was a perfect beginning to the New Year.  We got to see Charis for the first time in several weeks!  When Jim let us in the front door, Charis heard voices at the front door and came to see who it was.  When she saw us, she broke into a huge smile and ran to us!  What a thrill!  I was closer to her than Herb, so she grabbed my leg first and reached up for me.  You can believe I grabbed her up quick and got a hug and a kiss.  Pure bliss!

After hearing of other people doing it, I thought it would be fun to try to take a picture every day of the new year.  I'm not making a resolution--because I know I'd break it!  But I'm going to try, anyway.  I certainly won't get to post them every day, but I can always do a few at a time.  It's a way of looking around with fresh insight.  A particular theme I want to explore is Thankfulness.  So this picture of Charis, taken on January 1, 2010, is a perfect way to begin that theme!
