Bye-Bye, Lucie

Lucie went home on April 12.  Here is the requested (and long-overdue) story.  It was a fairly silent and peaceful operation (the most noise was made by all of us yakking about cows), so I'll tell it in sound bytes.

The caravan arrives . . .
. . . and heads to the Back Pasture.

"Don't wanna go home."

Instant round pen.

"No way!"

Yes, way!

♪ "Bye-bye, love.  Bye-bye, happiness."

"Hi, sis."  "Hi to you, sis."

The caravan leaves.

♪ "Hello, loneliness.  I think I'm gonna cry.  Good-bye, my love, good-bye."

  1. This was nice, she and the other cows really looked like they were going to miss each other.

    1. Lucie was especially going to miss our green grass and clover that we're growing out before we put our own cattle in that pasture! The little red guy peeking out from behind the tree next to the big black steer is our bull, and he especially missed Lucie. But so did Sir Loin, in the last photo, he wanted company. He will NOT stay in the pasture with the bull and other steer, but then he's pining for their company. Go figure!
