It's So Hot in Northwest Georgia

It’s so hot in Northwest Georgia …

… a robin stole a potholder off the clothesline and used it to pull a worm out of the ground.

… the trees keep whistling for Hero.

…we used a seat belt buckle to brand the new calf.

… it got down to 93° yesterday and I caught a chill.

… Kara won’t ride her bicycle anymore for fear she’d be in an accident, get knocked out and end up cooked to death on the pavement.

… Herb dug up sweet potatoes yesterday, and they were cooked to perfection.

… Sara the cow gives evaporated milk.

… the hens are laying hard-boiled eggs.

  1. I know! It's really really hot here too! Every day in the low 100s, and so so humid!

  2. Well, today was the first day we were supposed to hit 100, so I guess I shouldn't be complaining! But I am, anyway! :)

  3. I took Tai running the other day, at 3 pm thinking it was cooler but he almost fainted! I had to get back home fast. No, really, he just found a spot of shade and rolled over and refused to budge. But after that, I promised him that if he got up and ran up the last hill I'd take him directly home. We played spot the shade and run to it all the way home:-)
